Piedmont Environmental Associates was founded in 2010 with one mission in mind: provide superior and comprehensive soil and environmental consulting services. For the better part of a decade, our team of experts has used their combined knowledge of the world of wastewater management to advise land developers, engineers, and surveyors across a wide variety of projects. We are dedicated to helping our client’s find the best solution for their waste in order to help maximize their projects success and profits.

Jim Beeson
Jim is the founder of Piedmont Environmental Associates and serves as a managing principal and project manager. With a career spanning decades and comprised of experience in soil mapping, wastewater system design and installation, regulatory compliance and lot yield maximization, Jim is equipped to handle any project from start to finish.
Chris Murray
Chris serves as a managing principal and project manager at Piedmont Environmental Associates. With a Masters of Science in Soil Science from North Carolina State University, and years of experience working in research, consulting, and farming, Chris has the diverse tool set required to tackle even the most complex projects.
Edwin Stott
Edwin serves as a managing principal and project manager at Piedmont Environmental Associates. With a Masters of Science in Public Health from East Carolina University, an undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University in Natural Resources and management experience in both the public and private sectors, Edwin brings a dynamic perspective to the practice of environmental consulting.
Ryan Smith
Ryan is a staff soil scientist and project manager at Piedmont Environmental Associates. With experience as a consulting soil scientist as well as an environmental health regulatory agent, Ryan has the skills needed to take on any project. Ryan received his B.S. in Natural Resources from North Carolina State University and is a licensed soil scientist as registered environmental health specialist in the state of North Carolina.
Eric Bailey
Jennifer Whitaker
Jennifer Whitaker joined our team in early 2019 as Office Manager. She brings with her over 20 years management experience in the construction and land development industry. Additionally, Jennifer is bilingual, fluent in spanish. Jennifer has the background and the skills to keep our team running smoothly. She holds a degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Travis Hudson
Travis is an environmental field technician at Piedmont Environmental Associates . With experience in environmental sampling, surveying, GIS and environmental consulting, Travis makes a great addition to our team in the field. Travis holds a B.S. in engineering from North Carolina A&T State University.
Allee Pruett
Allee is an environmental field technician at Piedmont Environmental Associates. She holds a B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Allee has experience in GIS, natural resource management, and conservation.
Lori Thorn
Lori recently joined the Piedmont Environmental Associates team. She holds a B.S. in Earth and Environmental Science from NC A&T. With prior experience as an environmental health regulatory agent and an office administrator, she can offer assistance to both clients and staff.
Solomon Turner
Solomon is an environmental field technician at Piedmont Environmental Associates. He holds a B.S. in Biology from Brevard College graduating with summa cum laude honors. Solomon has experience in natural history and sustainable agriculture.
Mike Barone
Mike is an environmental field technician at Piedmont Environmental Associates. He is from Whitsett, NC and played football while attending Elon University. Mike holds a B.S. in Environmental Science from Elon University.
Seth Dupree
Megan Watkins
Megan is a staff soil scientist in training at Piedmont Environmental Associates. With experience as an environmental health regulatory agent and in GIS, Megan makes a great asset to our team. Megan holds a B.S. in Environmental Geology from Appalachian State University, as well as an undergraduate certificate in soil science from North Carolina State University. Megan is a registered environmental health specialist in the state of North Carolina.
